| Metiis was founded by the founders of Actona, which was sold to Cisco for $100 million.
Sources inform ''Globes'' that enterprise software start-up Metiis Technologies Ltd. has raised $8 million from Greylock Partners and Carmel Ventures. Based in Haifa, the company is operating under a veil of secrecy. It is apparently developing a revolutionary product for the management of desktop and laptop computers at enterprises.
Metiss was founded six months by CTO Dr. Israel Ben-Shaul and CEO Dr. Ilan Kessler, who previously founded Actona, which was sold to Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) for $100 million in June 2004. Both men went on to work for Cisco Israel. Actona's acquisition was the first exit after the dot.com bubble burst and a sign that the high-tech crisis was ending.
