Motorola Mobility BitBand’s advanced content delivery solutions over IP broadband networks helped realize the Triple Play offering, enabling quick entry into new markets, faster ROI and a safe track to profitable large-scale service. The company's solutions were targeted at large-scale deployments of TV-centric residential subscribers and feature high-scale streaming and robust performance optimized for hybrid and distributed network architectures. BitBand's On Demand IPTV solutions formed the most scalable and cost-effective solution existing for the IPTV environment, including the BitBand ISIS(TM) automated Video Delivery Network, BitBand Maestro(TM) Content Distribution and Video Network Management Suite and BitBand Vision(TM) appliance servers.

TECHNOLOGY

BitBand's Maestro together with the Vision line of streaming and recording servers provide an intelligent Content Delivery Management Platform managing the content distribution throughout the network. Maestro's Auto-CDNTM module offers dynamic, real time content adaptation according to actual usage, maximizing streaming throughput, optimizing storage capacity and minimizing network load. It is responsible for automatic distribution and deletion of content, based on actual usage statistics and concurrency data, which is gathered throughout the life cycle of the content.

Distributed Content Delivery Network (CDN) solution offers unparalleled flexibility to accommodate changes in the network topology and size, saving vast investments in the network and enabling cost effective scaling in terms of concurrent unicast streams and live channels recordings.
CDN hierarchical architecture reduces the required amount of storage in remote sites by placing the popular content closer to the subscribers, while “long tail” content is stored in a central location. Automation of the CDN allows an optimized usage of the storage in the network by placing the content in the proper location according to actual subscribers’ demand and the popularity of the content.
