DESCRIPTION

PROLOR Biotech develops long acting versions of therapeutic drugs utilizing two technologies: CTP and Reversible PEGylation. The CTP technology was exclusively licensed from Washington University while Reversible-PEGylation was exclusively licensed from the Weizmann Institute. These are complementary technologies enabling PROLOR to develop long-acting versions of recombinant proteins, small molecules and peptides.

PROLOR’s core CTP technology, which has the potential to dramatically reduce injection frequency, drug load and side-effects for most therapeutic proteins, is clinically validated—a Merck drug based on CTP received EU marketing approval in 2010.

PROLOR’s current pipeline of biobetters, including human growth hormone from the treatment of growth hormone deficiency in adults and pediatric population. Long acting Factor VIIa-CTP enabling prophylactic treatment of hemophilic patients , and long acting oxyntomodulin (MOD-6030) for the treatment of type II diabetes and obesity. All products demonstrated excellent safety, significantly longer duration of effect and comparative biological efficacy in relevant studies.

Human Growth Hormone (hGH) is used for the long-term treatment of children and adults with growth hormone deficiency due to inadequate secretion of endogenous growth hormone. The primary indications it treats in children are growth hormone deficiency, kidney disease, Prader-Willi Syndrome, and Turner's Syndrome. the current replacement therapy is based on daily administrations, MOD-4023 enables the replacement of daily injections with single weekly injection Completed Phase II in adults and in Final preparations for Phase III initiation in growth hormone deficient adults. Phase II in Growth hormone deficient children is ongoing.
MOD-5014, FVIIa-CTP; Long acting FVIIa	Phase I
FVIIa supports treatment of bleeding episodes in hemophilia A or B patients with inhibitors to Factor VIII or Factor IX and in patients with acquired hemophilia. FVIIa also prevents bleeding in surgical interventions or invasive procedures in hemophilia A or B patients with inhibitors to Factor VIII or Factor IX and in patients with acquired hemophilia. Treatment of bleeding episodes in patients with congenital FVII deficiency Prevention of bleeding in surgical interventions or invasive procedures in patients with congenital FVII deficiency. MOD-5014 enables reduction of dosing frequency and can support prophylactic treatment. In preparations for Phase IIa.
MOD-6030 Rev-peg-OXM; Long acting Oxyntomodulin
Type 2 Diabetes is the most common form of diabetes, accounting for roughly 90% to 95% of diagnosed diabetes cases worldwide. Type 2 diabetes is a condition where the body either does not produce enough insulin or its cells ignore the insulin. Insulin is required to transport glucose from the blood into the cells. When the body does not perform this function, glucose accumulates in the blood instead of entering the cells, resulting in hyperglycemia. This can starve the body's cells for energy, and over time, injure the eyes, kidneys, nerves, or heart. Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced life expectancy and/or increased health problems. People are considered obese when their body mass index (BMI), a measurement obtained by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by the square of the person's height in metres, exceeds 30 kg/m. Obesity increases the likelihood of various diseases, particularly heart disease, type 2 diabetes MOD-6030 is a long acting GLP-1/glucagon dual receptor agonist. Oxyntomodulin, a natural appetite suppressor, is a peptide hormone which is secreted by the intestine following food intake and induces satiety once it reaches the brain. Weekly administration of MOD-6030 leads to reduction in blood glucose combined with significant weight loss. In Preparations for Phase I.
